  • Dust dust everywhere

We are deep cleaning our living room today. Actually we started yesterday by taking our old nasty couch that the dog enjoyed sleeping on and a console tv that needed fixing out of our house. The couch is awaiting the garbag man and someone picked up the tv. I have been nagging Dade for months to get rid of these two eyesores.

Today we are moving around the furniture and vacuuming and dusting. I can't believe how much dust was behind and under everything. It hasn't been more than 3 or 4 months since I did this. I'm hoping to get rid of a few more eyesores in the living room today. Our living room was looking more like a warehouse than a home.

Yesterday we had a very enjoyable lunch. We found an Italian buffet in Sarasota called Bella Cucina that is absolutely out of this world. It is not the cheap Italian food but really really good stuff. It included some fancy salads and even desserts included. We will be going back again soon. www.italianbuffet.com

    Back to dusting again...

  • Autumn is here already.

This year is going by so quickly. The Halloween decorations are already out here. There is a big cold front coming to most of the country...except Florida. It is still in the 90's here. The cooler weather is coming if I can just hold out a few more weeks.

Last weekend we went to Casey Key south of Sarasota. In the little channel behind the beach I saw a dolphin jump out of the water. How majestic. I thought they only did that in Seaworld. I love to see dolphins. Dade took several pictures of the park and dolphin and he downloaded them today. Apparently his camera settings were all messed up because they are all white.

I have the rest of the week off from work and just don't know what to do with myself. If Dade was working I would take a trip, but he still is out of work and extremely depressed. I really don't like seeing him like this. A man really does need to work.

Dade has relatives coming to the USA from Indonesia next month. They may be staying at our house. We will be clearing out the clutter and dust (high time) for their visit. I guess I will start tomorrow on this project.

  • The job search is on.

Dade is finally seriously looking for work. I hope he finds something ASAP. He needs to work. It is not good for a man to not work.

Today I decided to work out the old fashioned way. Housework. No, it's not a four letter word. I started in the bedroom vacuuming the walls, floor and window screens. Next I vacuumed and dusted the rest of the house. I cleared out a couple of sinkfulls of dirty dishes and did 2 loads of laundry. I was really sweating. It was a great workout.

  • Exhausted!

I am guilty of not keeping up my blog. Life has been challenging in our home and for my extended  family. Dade has been out of work since before Christmas, but we have been just getting by and I am so grateful for that.

We had the chance to clean a rental home today to make a few bucks. The filth was unbelievable. Rotten fish in the refrigerator. Dog poop smeared all over the kitchen and living room. Bloody snot all over a white eyelet comforter, sheets and the pillow itself. And to top it all off, they had rotten squid covered in flies and maggots out by the pool. These people were unbelievable pigs. Dade's friend that he filled in for said it normally takes her 2 hours. Five loads of laundry and cleaning the poo etc. took us over 6 hours for 2 people. All for a measly $50.00. And to make matters worse, the air conditioner was not working at all and it was 90 degrees in the house. I am basically lazy and do not like the heat.

I would love more cleaning jobs, but not for PIGS like this. Oh my gosh. We EARNED our money today. Like I said, we are getting by, but it is not easy.
